Speaking two foreign languages is sometimes more than my brain can handle. This drawing was inspired by the ongoing battle within my head between French and Portuguese. The other day I told my Brazilian friend that I was interested in opening a cafe because ‘gosto de fazer gatos’ (I like making cats), instead of ‘gosto de fazer bolos’ (I like making cakes) (cake in French = ‘gâteaux’; cats in Portuguese = ‘gatos’). Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a kitten did come out of my oven.
